Widcombe Christmas Market Returns!
Widcombe Christmas Market is back for its eighteenth year with an array of handcrafted gifts and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere! It will take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November in three venues on lower Widcombe Hill, Bath. Venues will be open from 10.30am until 5.00pm on Saturday and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sunday. Entry is free.
The market is a local favourite and offers the perfect chance to find gifts for friends and family or to bag your own beautifully crafted treat, buying direct from local artists and makers. This year there will be seventy-five creative local artisans, selling an impressive array of arts and crafts including ceramics, jewellery, Christmas cards, glasswork, natural soaps, seasonal wreathes, prints, photography and wood carving.
The three venues – Widcombe Social Club, Natural Theatre Company and St. Matthew’s Church (which is open on Saturday only) are all within close walking distance of each other at the bottom of Widcombe Hill and within easy reach of the bus and train stations. St. Matthew’s will be offering homemade cakes on Saturday, and Widcombe Social Club has a bar and an array of refreshments all weekend.
'We are a friendly, volunteer-run event which gives local artists and makers the chance to sell their arts and crafts direct.'
Clare Furlonger, the organiser of Widcombe Christmas Market, said, ‘Widcombe Christmas Market is a great place to do your Christmas shopping! We are a friendly, volunteer-run event which gives local artists and makers the chance to sell their arts and crafts direct. Shoppers will find a warm welcome and a host of unique, handmade goods in three relaxed and accessible venues.’
