Rutab is based in Chilcompton just outside of Bath and was created and influenced by our love of the Middle East with an enthusiasm to shake off the perception that Dates are only something that your Nan gets out at Christmas (You know the ones – sticky and complete with a utensil modelled on the twig of a tree!)
If you think dates is not your thing, think again! We pride ourselves on the fact that we have converted so many people to become ‘date lovers’.
Bader and Ross have travelled throughout the Middle East and their creations reflect this whilst giving this legendary fruit a modern twist. ‘Tropic Like it’s Hot’ will take you on a smooth summer journey; Medjool Date, filled with handmade Mango Pâte De Fruits and enrobed in creamy white Belgian chocolate, rolled in toasted Coconut, whilst the ‘Hokey Pokey’ cranks up the decadence, filling a Medjool Date with Almond and Hazlenut Praline, drenched in dark Belgian Chocolate and a sprinkling of our delicious Honeycomb.
We insist on using the finest Medjool dates harvested from the Jordan Valley (linking into Bader’s heritage), and they are widely considered as some of the best in the world, specifically for their juicy sweet flavour and indulgent texture.

We currently offer six Chocolate enrobed dates and a further six in our “naked” range; which still burst with traditional and modern flavours but without the chocolate element.
Our limited-edition Christmas range will also be launching shortly and we are very excited to introduce these flavours to you all (some are familiar festive flavours but like always, with a twist).
