Polar Plunge 2023
RUHX’s Polar Plunge is back! Show your support for Royal United Hospitals Bath by joining us for a festive cold water dip on Saturday 2 December. This year’s dip takes place at the beautiful South Cerney Outdoor lake in the Cotswolds, with a brilliant lifeguard team to guide you through the experience of cold water swimming.

Whether you’re a complete beginner looking to dip your toes in, or a more experienced outdoor swimmer not quite ready to hang up your wetsuit, discover the wellbeing benefits of winter dipping, in a crystal clear lake.
This is a non-competitive event and how long you stay in the chilly water is up to you! Dip, bob, or swim – the choice is yours. You might decide getting in and out is enough, or you might want to stay in for a few minutes and brave a lap.
Dippers can choose to be a penguin (wear a wetsuit) or polar ‘bare’ (swimming costume only, no wetsuit!), and santa hats are encouraged.
However you plunge, the lifeguard team from South Cerney Outdoor will be out in the water with you to keep you safe at all times.
By taking part, you will help the RUH to do more for patients this Christmas. Dippers are asked to raise a minimum of £75 to support our hospital over the winter months
