Live Music & Comedy Return to Komedia this May
After a long period of closure, Komedia Bath is preparing to open its doors, dim the lights and welcome live entertainment back to the stage once again!
From the 18th of May the venue will re-open - at first operating at a reduced capacity, in line with social distancing measures set out by the government. Then, from the 21st of June - if restrictions are lifted as currently expected - the venue will be able to re-introduce full-capacity shows, standing gigs and even club nights! Here’s the lowdown on everything that’s coming up at the venue so get your diaries at the ready…
For over a decade, the venue has been known for its Saturday night comedy show, Krater Comedy Club, which is described by The Independent as “THE place to catch stand-up comedy”. Krater will return on Saturday 22nd May with a stellar line-up including: the effortlessly funny iranian-born comic Shappi Khorsandi, 2017 English Comedian of the year Nick Page, Komedia Bath audience favourite Sally Anne Hayward and one more very special act to be announced soon! Tickets start at just £16.50 per person and are available at www.komedia.co.uk/bath/krater.
The Komedia Bath team has also been busy programming plenty of live music with socially-distanced gig highlights including a night of live electric blues from guitar virtuoso Will Johns on Wednesday 9 June, festival vibes from MC extraordinaire The Undercover Hippy on Thursday 10 June & a cider-soaked matinee with “scrumpy and western” favourites The Skimmity Hitchers on Sunday 20 June.
To help usher in the return of life as normal in June, Komedia is also offering 2 FREE music festivals on Monday 21 June and Friday 25 June. The first will be a showcase of the finest rock and alternative bands including Novatines, Bite the Buffalo, The Byker Grove Fan Club, Meekers & more, while the second offers an array of reggae, ska and funk to get your feet moving from the likes of Bare Jams, The Maitree Express, Plume and more! Both of these events are free, but grabbing a ticket in advance is recommended to guarantee entry on the night. These events and more great live music can be viewed at www.komedia.co.uk/bath/music.
For those who have missed dancing the night away, Komedia has also announced that its long-established motown, funk and soul club night ‘Motorcity’ will be returning on Saturday 26 June.
