THE SCHOOL FOR ADVENTUROUS MINDS
Start your adventure here...
As a family of three schools, the Pre-Prep, Junior and Senior Schools at King Edward's offer an inspiring and supportive environment for children aged between 3 and 18.
The ethos of the School is one that encourages all pupils to make the most of all the wonderful opportunities on offer, both in and out of the classroom, that enable them to grow and thrive within a supportive and caring framework. We aim to foster talent in all its forms and to open doors to enquiry, discovery and adventure.
Recent developments in the Senior School have seen the opening of a new Creative Media Suite, to help enhance pupils’ digital skills and interests. We have also expanded our STEM facilities to boost the Senior School’s Science provision to 12 state-of-the-art laboratories, which have been designed with both experiments and modern teaching and learning principles in mind.
Founded in 1552, KES has held a special place in the city for well over four and a half centuries and is now firmly established as one of the leading schools in the south-west of England.
In our Junior School, pupils are fully engaged in their learning, enjoying an enriched and diverse curriculum underpinned by an excellent pastoral system supporting the children’s emotional health and personal growth. Music and Science Weeks, STEM projects involving Microbits and LEGO Robotics, Eco initiatives and sporting and dramatic opportunities, all add to the stimulating learning environment on offer.
Further down the School, no two days are the same at our Pre-Prep and Nursery. A love of reading and learning through stories are often at the heart of the children’s topics which lead them on adventures to medieval castles, lands roaming with dinosaurs or an exploration of new cultures and places around the world. Specialist teachers, trips and visiting guests enhance our youngest pupils’ learning, as does our stunning outdoor environment.
