The MND Tee is a small lifestyle brand with a huge mission to fight back against Motor Neurone Disease. Emma Frampton, Founder of 'The MND Tee' talks to us about her own personal reasons for raising awareness of this fatal, rapidly progressing disease.

MND is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and the spinal cord. It attacks the nerves that control our movement so the muscles eventually weaken. MND can affect every individual differently and symptoms can progress at different speeds. Effects can be devastating and currently, there is limited treatment and no cure.

The MND Tee is a small lifestyle brand with a huge mission to fight back against Motor Neurone Disease. My journey with The MND Tee started after losing my father to the disease back in 2012. I very quickly went from being a daughter to being a full time carer and witnessing first hand just how devastating this can be. It now feels entirely instilled within me to help others in a similar situation and to try and make a change within the world of MND. My mission is that I want to help spread mass awareness of MND, help fund research and help support people in the community.

After years of running fundraising events within the local area, I wanted to switch things up a little. My main focus was to spread awareness of the disease. I still feel there is a lot of work to do here, to make it known and to spread the little knowledge that we do have. Now I know this wasn’t the first charity tee to come about, but I did want to create a brand that appealed to people whether they had a connection or not, with a simple yet effective design, locally printed on beautifully soft, organic cotton. The tees, along with the other items are aimed at being worn as a staple wardrobe item, each time creating awareness whilst raising funds for research too! The first ever tees sold out straight away and 2 years later I am running a whole range of clothing and lifestyle products. My big focus this year is to grow this little brand as much as possible and to move to a space where I can store stock, create content and pack/dispatch all my orders. All my profits from this whole range go to The Motor Neurone Disease Association who do incredible work to help support people in the community, help fund research and help spread the word. They are the only charity in England and Wales to do this vital work.

All my products within the range carry a huge meaning behind them. After seeing how quickly life can be turned upside down I wanted the MND TEE to align with my values of living. It is about connection, community and creating a change. It’s about living with purpose, appreciating the tiny moments of joy in each day and making those moments count. It’s about protecting those we love and remembering those we’ve lost and, ultimately, it’s about truly recognising how precious and finite life really is.
