Calling all 11–18 year olds!
Do you like getting laughs from an audience? Want to learn to get more? Want to learn the ancient secrets of making stuff up on the spot?
Electric Improv is a brand new interactive performing arts course at Komedia Bath for 11–18-year-olds, taught by award-winning comedian Jarred Christmas.
Improv, or improvisation, is a form of comedy theatre, which is performed without a script, and is made up on the spot. It builds teamwork and confidence, unleashes creativity, and enhances performing skills. Every class will be different and hilarious and all you need is a positive attitude and a desire to have a laugh!
Based at Komedia Bath, the course will last 10 weeks and will culminate in a live improv performance for family and friends at the end.

About Jarred Christmas:
Jarred Christmas has been a professional Stand-Up Comedian for 22 years. His hugely successful family show "The Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show" has had sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as a sell-out tour of the UK. He has appeared on numerous TV shows, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats and CBBCs dog ate my homework and the hit CBBC show "The Joke Machine" and has a long history of teaching improvised comedy to teenagers.
"Improv which was made famous by the TV series Whose Line is it Anyway? has been the foundation that my 22 years as a professional comedian is built upon. I started when I was 12 and Improv has taught me invaluable skills for performing and social interactions.
As a father of a performing arts obsessed kid I became aware that Improv comedy was not available in the Bath area to teenagers. I would like to change that and thankfully Komedia Bath wants to as well.
Improv builds performance skills, friendship and everyday confidence. It's all about thinking on your feet and trains you to have a nimble mind. More importantly Improv is fun and immensely creative. At the end of the course, the students get to do a show at Komedia in front of an actual audience. That is going to be a blast!"
