Come together with family and friends on Sunday 1 December for the Dorothy House Jingle Jog, an event full of Christmas joy for all the family!
Our annual Christmas family fun run is back, this year as the Jingle Jog! Bring your Christmas jumpers, Santa hats or festive attire and walk, jog, or run whilst raising funds for Dorothy House.
Dorothy House Hospice supports patients and families 365 days a year, and this doesn’t stop at Christmas, and so by taking part in this year’s Jingle Jog, participants are supporting the work of the Hospice over the festive period.
Walk, jog, or run 2.5km or 5km – fun for all ages!
The event is open to all ages and this year will feature fun activities along the route for those looking for that extra Christmas sparkle. Participants can choose to do one or two loops of the 2.5km route on the day.
And this year there is even more fun planned for the young ones in the family! There will a Christmas themed activity pack available to anyone that signs up and a set of Christmas themed challenges along the route that participants can complete to earn a prize at the end.
Dan Varley, Community and Events Fundraiser at Dorothy House said: “We are so excited to get everyone back in their festive gear for the Jingle Jog, our annual Christmas fun-run with a slightly different look and feel this year, still promising to be a fantastic and festive as ever!”
Winsley Cricket Club will once again be supporting the event, and the route will go through both the Hospice grounds and the village of Winsley.
The Jingle Jog starts at 11am, with registration open from 9:30am and a warm-up at 10:50am. Entry costs £7.50 for adults (18+) and £5.00 for children (5-17), and this year there is also a Family Ticket option for £20.00, which includes up to 2 adults & 2 children. Dorothy House is asking each person/family to raise £50.00 to support Hospice Care this Christmas whilst taking part in this event.
Proceeds from the Jingle Jog will go towards helping Dorothy House to support patients and their families and carers at a time when they most need it. It is Dorothy House’s mission to ensure that everyone across the 800sq mile patch has access to outstanding palliative and end of life care.
The Hospice offers a range of services; from specialist medical support, to complementary therapies, to helping patients live their final days at home and arranging experiences that create special memories for families and friends.
