Quarrymans Arms unveils brand new look and Autumn menu
Butcombe Brewery, the West Country based brewery and pub group, has reopened the Quarrymans Arms in Box, Wiltshire after a refurbishment.
The popular family-run Inn with rooms, on the outskirts of Bath, has undergone a complete makeover; the main bar area has been refreshed with newly upholstered furniture and local art work while the much-loved carved wooden bar has been lovingly restored and brought back to life.
Towards the rear of the building the restaurant has been treated to new carpets and heritage teal green washed walls which frame the enormous picture windows affording magnificent views over the Box Valley. The snug, with its unique fire surround (designed as a 1/50th scale replica of the Box Tunnel entrance), has also been revamped and is now the perfect space for small functions or private dining.
Gemma Hampton, Operations Manager, Butcombe Brewery says: “We’re delighted with the new look pub and our regulars and guests seem to love what we’ve done. The heart and the soul of this much-loved building is very much still intact but we’ve subtly brought it up to date with a fresher look and feel.”
The Inn’s four ensuite bedrooms have also been treated to a makeover. The beautifully appointed bedrooms, each named after a local quarry, feature statement beds, luxury Egyptian cotton bedding, sumptuous throws and Bramley toiletries.
The reopening of the Quarrymans Arms coincides with the launch of their autumn menu with Head Chef Amber Southon at the helm. Alice Bowyer, Executive Chef, Butcombe Brewery says: “We’re really excited to unveil our autumn menu in these wonderful new surroundings. Head Chef Amber’s real passion and skill is in pastry, pies and old school cooking. We spend a great deal of time researching Victorian recipes for the pies, pork pies, wellingtons etc – think Callum Franklin from Holborn dining room.
“We have a feature pie section on the menu and homemade pastry features heavily. The whole offer is warm, big flavour British cookery, lots of bar snacks – nothing better than with a pint! – and a great Sunday roast.”
A new addition to the Quarrymans Arms culinary offering is the availability of a daily breakfast menu. A selection of cereals, granola, fruits, pastries and porridge, traditional hearty full English, vegetarian breakfast, Arnold Bennett, Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine are now available daily.
