Broad Street Townhouse is a new boutique city-centre bolthole – offering eleven impeccably designed bedrooms, café by day and a speakeasy bar, The Blind Pig, by night.

The grade two listed property, dating back to 1885, is nestled in the heart of the city occupying 32-33 Broad Street.  Situated in a conservation area and built from traditional Bath limestone, the Townhouse - now tastefully restored and carefully curated - provides an authentic Bath base from which to explore the city.

Butcombe Pub & Inns has led the extensive renovation to sympathetically restore the building back to its former 19th century glory – in partnership with award-winning design and build specialists Concorde BGW.

Guests arrive via the original shopfront façade, greeted by monochrome Victorian inspired bordered tiling, high ceilings, sash windows and exposed timber staircases – leading to the eleven en-suite bedrooms set over three floors.

The beautiful interiors offer a laid-back and luxurious home-from-home – statement pieces of furniture and individual artwork are found throughout the bedrooms, each with king-size beds, decorated with soft shades and leafy green plants and come complete with complimentary Bramley botanicals and sustainable bamboo amenities in the bathrooms. Each room comes furnished with every modern traveller’s needs – Wi-Fi, Roberts Radios, rain head showers, mini-fridges, and Smart TVs.

Broad Street Townhouse’s aesthetic nods to its heritage (the City of Bath itself a World Heritage Site) with respect and taste to celebrate its provenance - whilst at the same time presents a new contemporary classic suited to the discerning, modern traveller.

Freshly prepared breakfast hampers, of homemade granola, preserves and pastries, are delivered to bedrooms in wicker baskets. Picnic hampers are also available on request, perfect for an alfresco lunch in one of the city’s parks.

The food and drink in the Townhouses’ café showcases the best of local products – welcoming both guests and non-residents for breakfast, lunch and coffees in the café throughout the day.

Mornings in the café begin at 7am serving up a selection of fruit, croissants, yoghurts, seasonal fruit compote, delicious juices and locally produced Clifton Coffee and Cold Brew (or for those looking to sit down for something more substantial, The Pig & Fiddle next door will be serving American style breakfasts and Bottomless Brunch). Lunch is a feast of fresh salads, doorstep sandwiches, quiches, sweet treats and cakes and an everchanging range of seasonal iced drinks – all easily available to take-away.

In the evening, the café will be transformed into The Blind Pig bar, expected to open at the end of July, serving Butcombe beers, cocktails, local spirits, wines, charcuterie (look-out for the impressively sizeable hand-carved Jamon on the bar) and cheeses.

Jayson Perfect, Managing Director of Pubs and Inns at Liberation Group, says: “Broad Street Townhouse is a passion project of ours and one we’ve long had in mind – since taking over the Pig & Fiddle pub next door back in 2015. It was a shame to see such a beautiful building, filled with original features, sat empty in disrepair – but so rewarding to get stuck into the renovation and bring it all back to life. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming our first overnight guests and inviting in the local people of Bath to experience our new café and bar.”

Standard double rooms are available from £150 per night, including a breakfast hamper – Large Double and Luxury rooms are also available.
