Headed up by Tom Kerridge, and with a stellar line up of chefs, pubs and music, Pub In The Park, will be heading to Royal Victoria Park on 8 – 10 June. Combined with great live music, chef demonstrations, top quality shopping and other festival fun, it has all the ingredients for the perfect foodie experience. Here, Tom chats to Craig Maplesden about how excited he is about the forthcoming event and what’s in store.

Many thanks for taking the time out to talk to me today. You’re bringing your ‘Pub In The Park’ Festival to Royal Victoria Park, Bath, on June 8 – 10. Tell us a little more about the event.

Pub in the Park is bringing world class chefs and chart topping music to your doorstep. It’s all about great food, that community feel and having a lush time. You don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant to enjoy top quality food, you can come along to Pub in the Park and get yourself high-end pub grub, cooked by a top-class chef, for just £5.

Here in Bath, there are some excellent pubs serving refi ned food using some of the best west country produce and we should shout about that. So, bring your family, bring your friends, you can even bring the dog and just have a great day out!

The 18,000 tickets to the inaugural festival in Marlow sold out within 24 hours, could it have been any more successful?

Last year’s Marlow event was just such a brilliant vibe. People were talking about it days, weeks and even months afterwards and it was a wonderful feeling to know that the town was buzzing. People were talking about how superb it was and then we started thinking about how we could bring all the fun and talent to other places around the UK.

The idea of bringing the best of live music, great food, top quality shopping and fun to one venue, over one weekend, sounds like a sure fire winner. How difficult was it to get everyone available for the same weekend?

Everyone involved are people that I’ve personally know for a long time, they’re great mates. It wasn’t too tricky because Pub in the Park is an opportunity for us to all get together and have a great day out cooking amazing food.

I think if the chefs are having a good time then that feeling spreads out in to the park and everyone feels that buzz.

What and who do you have in store for the people of Bath this year?

I’m so excited to bring Pub in the Park to Bath this year. We’ve got top music talent coming including the likes of Tom Odell, Mel C, Razorlight and Squeeze as well as world class chefs such as my very good friend Paul Ainsworth. We’ve even got Josh Eggleton from The Pony & Trap which was just named the UK’s second best pub in the Top 50 Gastropubs Awards! There’ll be heart, soul and passion and also a chance to have a good chat to the chefs themselves. Tickets are selling fast though so grab yours quickly by visiting

Can sponsors and exhibitors still get involved?

Absolutely, we are really keen to hear from local businesses. Anyone that’s interested in getting involved as a pub, chef, stallholder or sponsor can get straight in touch with us by emailing

What is it about the city that made it one of your venues of choice for ‘Pub in the Park’?

Bath is the perfect location because it has a similar demographic, it has a good feel and it’s a community led city. We wanted to have that feel of the event being in your back garden rather than it feel like a festival on a national level. The Royal Victoria Park is a perfect spot for the community to come together and enjoy the vibes.
