Church View development scoops top national award

The critically acclaimed development of Church View by Lochailort Investments has once again been acknowledged for its high quality design, as it scoops a top national award.

Located in the pretty and historic village of Norton St Philip, just 8 miles south of Bath, this collection of 14 individually-designed, two and three bedroom character homes and apartments was ‘Commended’ in the category of Age Restricted Development at the Sunday Times British Homes Awards held last Friday (16 October).

This comes just months after a member of the Government Housing Design Panel judged Church View to be the best development he had ever seen.

Managing Director of Lochailort Investments Hugo Haig comments: “I am delighted that this development has been recognized for this national award which is a testament to our impressive home designs and all the hard work of all those people who are involved in the project. I would like to thank everyone in the team for contributing to our combined success.”

As well as all this independent critical acclaim, Church View has seen a great deal of purchaser interest, with 25 percent of the homes now reserved or sold.

One of the catalysts for this recent success has also been the opening of the superb new show home, which exhibits the high standard of specification and meticulous quality of build on offer.

Project Director, Jamie Adam comments: “A key driver for sales has been the show home which demonstrates the high standard of living purchasers will be able to acquire here.

For example the kitchens are in a traditional style, with granite or Silestone worktops, which are in keeping with the period character of the homes, but also benefit from the latest modern technology.

This mix of old and new is particularly appealing to buyers which is why we have seen such interest. I would therefore recommend potential purchasers to come and view the show home for themselves and see why Church View has been so highly rated by the judges.”

Other high quality specifications include designer white sanitaryware to the bathrooms, wet under-floor heating to the majority of rooms and Jetmaster freestanding multi-fuel stoves, creating an impressive focal point in living rooms.

Church View was also shortlisted by the judges for its premier facilities, including an estate manager who can keep a watchful eye over the homes. Each property is also fitted with a state-of-the-art Tunstall Telecare system, which enables residents to subscribe to a 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, UK based, call center support service. Plus there’s a lift provided to all floors of the apartment building.

Each of the houses at Church View also benefits from low-maintenance private gardens maintained by the Estate Manager. There is also a communal garden area for the benefit of the apartments bordered by a path and with extensive mature planting.

The development as a whole has won a number of other national awards including Best Brownfield and Best Exterior design at the What House? Awards.
